1896 Butterflies and Moths Lloyd's Natural History in Five Volumes / Handbook To The Order of Lepidoptera / 158 Beautiful Colour Plates

In good condition here is a lovely five-volume set of A Handbook to the Order of Lepidoptera - Butterflies and Moths. Complete. Published between 1896 and 1897 by Edward Lloyd of London. With 158 superb chromolithographic colour plates (see photos). 

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. With some spotting to the endpapers, page edges, tissue guards and scattered occasionally through the text. All of the superb colour plates are in good condition. Has an inked name at the top of the front free endpapers but no other writing or markings of previous ownership.

In the original dark red cloth covered boards with gilt ruling and titles. Again in good condition, clean and smart. With just the occasional faint mark. Has a split in the cloth down the spine of Volume III, (see final photo) but holding firm.
