In good condition and superbly illustrated, here is an antique copy of A Handbook to the Primates by Henry Forbes. Complete in two volumes. Published in 1896 and 1897 by Edward Lloyd, London as part of their Lloyd's Natural History series. With forty-one colour plates, plus a number of fold-out maps.
Providing detailed descriptions of various primate species, their habitats, behaviours, and physical characteristics. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in primatology and the study of these fascinating animals.
Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. With an inked name at the top of the front free endpapers, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. With some toning along the closed top edges, and spotting to the other two sides. All of the colour plates are present as called for (see photos).
In dark red cloth covered boards. Clean and smart. The red on the spines has faded in comparison to the front and back. With just a little rubbing to the corners and spine ends.
Your two-volume set of A Handbook to the Primates will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged. I am always happy to include a gift card and message if desired.
