1880s Antique Novel Set of Three Volumes by Charles Dickens / Bleak House, Dombey & Son, Nicholas Nickleby / Leather Bindings / Illustrated

Here is a lovely set of three leather bound antique Charles Dickens novels. Undated but would have been published in the 1880s by Chapman and Hall, London. Each novel has eight black and white illustrations.

The three novels are: Bleak House, Nicholas Nickleby and Dombey & Son. 

Inside the pages are tightly bound, with marbled edges. There is spotting scattered sporadically through the texts and also around the page edges. They have not been written in and there are no other markings of previous ownership.

In dark brown leather bindings with marbled papered sides. There is rubbing and some light scratches to the surfaces of the marbled paper. The brown leather spines have five raised bands and ornate gilt decoration. There is rubbing and a little peeling to the surface leather at the corners and a few scuffs to the spines. Has some rubbing also to the spine ends and some mild cracking along the joints. This is to the surface leather only and the binding of the text blocks is very good and strong. The matching set of three look eye-catching on the bookshelf.
