At 167 years old and in good condition, here is a lovely antique hardback copy of Wanderings Among the Wild Flowers by Spencer Thomson. Published in 1857 by G Routledge & Co., London. With eight delightful colour plates depicting the flowers according to the month (see photos), and line drawn diagrams. 

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. With mild spotting to the endpapers and tissue guard, and toning along the closed top edge. Has a bookseller's blind stamp at the top of the front free endpaper. Gapes at the gutter in one place but the binding of the text block is good and strong. All eight colour plates are present, with a couple of plates depicting more than one month's flowers.

Blue cloth covered boards have gilt decoration to the front and spine, and blind stamped decorative border to the front and back. Has rubbing to the cloth at the corners to reveal boards beneath. Also has rubbing to the cloth at the spine ends with some loss to the blue at the head of the spine (see final close-up photo). Otherwise in lovely condition. The blue boards and the front gilt being bright and un-faded. The gilt titles on the spine have dulled a little in comparison to the front.
