1968 Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen / Heron, London / Beautiful Dark Blue Faux Leather And Gilt / Illustrated / Good Condition

An elegant, attractive edition of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice published by Heron Books, London in 1968. Bound in dark blue faux leather with shiny, intricate gilt decoration. With a number of line-drawn illustrations (see photos). In good order, with a few minor condition points, detailed below.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound, with no writing or markings of previous ownership. Opens with decorative blue and gold endpapers. Has a blue ribbon place marker, this has dulled a little at the bottom where it protrudes. Has a few small pin size nicks to the bottom closed edge - but minor. Mild tanning to the closed edges.

Dark blue faux leather boards are very striking. Has just a few very thin scratches to the surface. These can really only be seen by holding the book right up to the light (see close-up photo). Otherwise clean and smart, with sparkly bright gilt.
