Here is a richly illustrated copy of The Banks of the Nile by Du Cane and Todd. Being a first edition, published by Adam and Charles Black of London in 1913. With sixty delightful colour plates. This copy is 112 years old and so has inevitably picked up some wear to the boards (detailed below), but remains a super book.

Inside the contents are clean and tightly bound with no writing or inscriptions. With a nick to one page edge near the end of the book. The top closed edge is gilt. All sixty colour plates are present as called for, and all in top order. Also has two folding maps. The top edge is gilt, with spotting to the other two sides.

In light brown cloth covered boards, with lovely decoration to the front and spine. There is rubbing to the rear board to reveal surface colour (see final photo). With rubbing also to the fore-edge of the front board. With some rounding to the corners and a slight bump to the top front corner. Has a few small splits to the cloth at the head and tail of the spine. One CONDIITON POINT to note is on the front, next to the titles has been written the number "20" in pencil (see photos). This has been mostly erased but still can be partially seen. All gilt titles are shiny bright.
