1909 The Vegetable Grower's Guide - Illustrated Antique Book Set

In very good condition, here is a scarce, antique complete set of The Vegetable Grower's Guide. In four, large and authoritative volumes. Superbly illustrated with thirty colour plates plus diagrams in the text. Covers soil preparation, varietal selection, seasonal tasks, and practical methods for growing vegetables under glass and in the open ground. Undated, but would have been published in 1909 by Virtue and Co., London. Condition in detail below.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no inscriptions or markings of previous ownership. All thirty colour plates are present, and in excellent condition. Each has their original tissue-guard. All edges are shiny gilt.

Green mottled cloth over boards have black stamped decoration to the fronts and gilt titles to spines. Again all in very good order. With the odd bumped edge. A few light marks to cloth - but minor. Has rubbing to the cloth on the corners to reveal boards at the tips.
