1909 Northanger Abbey and Persuasion by Jane Austen - Illustrated Antique Book

In excellent condition, here is a lovely antique leather-bound copy of Jane Austen's two novels Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. Published in 1909 by Macmillan and Co., London (reprinted). With gorgeous artwork by Hugh Thomson - his are the illustrations which stick in my mind when I am reading Austen. One of the best copies of this edition that I have seen. More details and condition below.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. No inscriptions or markings of previous ownership. The top edge is shiny gilt - a couple of spots to the fore-edge. Has a dark-red silk ribbon place-marker sewn in. All forty line-drawn illustrations are in top order and the frontispiece tissue-guard is still in place.

Bound in deep-red leather with sparkly, ornate gilt decoration to the front and spine. Again all in top order. Just some very light scuffing to the front and back. Mild rubbing to the corners and spine ends.

Your antique copy of Northanger Abbey and Persuasion will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged with tracking and insurance. I am always happy to add a gift card with a message to the parcel.
