Here is a stunning, large antique hardback book. The Butterflies and Moths of Europe by WF Kirby. Published in 1907 by Cassell & Co., London. With 54 absolutely superb, detailed colour plates (see photos). Condition in detail below.

Inside the pages are clean and bright, with no inscriptions or markings of previous ownership. This is a very large and comprehensive book. All of the 54 wonderfully detailed colour plates (plus one black and white diagram plate), are present as called for and all in top order. All edges are gilt.

Teal-blue cloth over boards have beautiful decoration to the front and spine. Again in good order. Has a little rubbing in places to the gilt titles. A few light marks to the teal cloth. Some rubbing to the cloth on the corners to reveal boards beneath at the tips. Rubbing also to cloth on the spine ends and joints.
