1897 Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte - Illustrated Antique Book

Here is a beautiful decorative antique copy of Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte. Undated, but would have been published in 1897 by The Walter Scott Publishing Co., London. With a black and white frontispiece, plus illustrations in the text by Edmund H Garrett. All edges are shiny gilt. The only real condition point to note being some of the green on the cloth has rubbed in places on the front and back (see photos), otherwise in excellent condition.

Inside the book opens onto a prize book plate on the front paste down from 1897, but there is no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Pages are in very good order, being clean, bright and tightly bound.

In striking olive-green cloth over boards with blue and yellow floral design, plus gilt title blocks. Again in top order - with the above-mentioned faded areas. Has mild rounding to the corners and spine ends/joints. Looking extremely eye-catching on display.
