Complete Set of The Novels of Jane Austen 1904-1907 - Illustrated Antique Books

In excellent condition here is an extremely scarce vintage set of the Novels of Jane Austen in Ten Volumes. Published between 1904 and 1907 by JM Dent & Sons. Each individual volume has six colour illustrations by CE and HM Brock. At time of writing I cannot find another complete set in this edition for sale anywhere online, and the fact it is in such good condition makes it a very special set indeed. A number of volumes have never been read as they have unopened pages. With a mark to the top of Pride and Prejudice being the main condition point to note. Condition in detail below.

Comprising: Sense and Sensibility; Pride and Prejudice; Mansfield Park; Emma; Northanger Abbey and Persuasion. This is a complete set.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound, and as mentioned above a number are unopened. A few of the pages have been untidily cut open on the fore-edge. With some spotting to the early and latter few pages, to the page edges and then just very occasionally in the text. A little spotting to the frontispiece tissues. With thin page ribbon markers and gilt along the top edges. Each volume has a charming bookplate from the library of Gwendolen Jefferson. She was well-known as a book collector and would be fun to research.

Pale-green cloth backed boards have blue decoration to the fronts and spines, and shiny gilt titles. Again all in top order. Clean, smart and square. Just the occasional odd small mark - but minor. Persuasion has a tiny bump on the top and bottom edge. The main condition point to note is a brown blemish to the top front of Pride and Prejudice Volume II, and very slightly to Volume I (see photos/videos). Otherwise the bindings would be described as Fine.
