1977 Vintage Jane Austen Book Set: Heron, London

In very good condition, here is a beautiful vintage set of The Complete Novels of Jane Austen in five volumes. Between 1968 and 1977 Heron Books of London produced this illustrated set of all six of Austen's completed novels. Bound in dark blue faux leather with ornate gilt decoration. With black and white illustrations and blue place marker ribbons sewn in. With a couple of condition points to note, detailed below, but nothing too obtrusive and remaining a super set.

Comprising: Sense and Sensibility; Pride and Prejudice; Mansfield Park; Emma and Northanger Abbey which is bound With Persuasion together in one volume.

Inside the pages are clean and bright, with no writing or inscriptions. Opening onto pale grey/blue endpapers with ornate gilt decoration. The black and white illustrations are by different artists in each volume (see photos). All in top order. Just a few nicks to the fore-edge of some pages in Emma, and some slight tanning to the pages of Mansfield Park.

The dark blue faux leather bindings are also in very good order. There is some bumping to the corners (see photos). A few light marks to the faux leather - but minor. The gilt has remained sparkly bright, and this set looks extremely eye-catching on display.
