1955 Old Garden Roses - Part One by Sitwell & Russell / Beautiful Large Volume / Limited Edition 674 of 2000 / Eight Colour Plates / Wrapper

Here is a beautiful copy of Old Garden Roses - Part One by Sacheverell Sitwell and James Russell. A large book with eight superb colour plates by Charles Raymond. Being a first edition, published in 1955 by George Rainbird Ltd, London. It is a numbered limited edition copy no. 674 of 2000.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or inscriptions. All eight colour plates are present as called for. Also has black and white line drawn roses to the endpapers.

In the original dust jacket which has some wear. With rubbing around the outside edges. Has some nicks and tears to the edges which have been restored on the reverse side with professional bookbinder's tape. With some areas of loss to the corners, and to the bottom edge near the spine (see close-up photo). With some spotting, a small brown blemish near the top front, and a white mark near the bottom. Despite some vintage wear it remains a very attractive dust jacket.
