1947 Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen / Roger Ingram, London / Charming Vintage Edition in Good Condition / Dust Jacket / Scarce

A super vintage copy of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice from 1947 published by Roger Ingram of London. In good condition. This edition was produced to library quality standards. It was meant to be a long-lasting edition that could go into a library to be read many times. This copy has never been in a library and it has survived very well, with just some slight spotting to the endpapers, and mild wear to the jacket.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or markings of previous ownership. (There is a faded name and number at the top of the rear inner dust jacket flap - see photos). Has some mild spotting to the endpapers, and just a little to the closed outside edges. With a couple of folded corners. The top closed edge is tinted deep pink to match the jacket. An unillustrated edition.

The charming unclipped dust jacket has also fared well. Has some edge wear creases and chips, with some small loss to the corner tips, head of the spine, and in one area on the bottom front edge. Slight tanning and a few small scuffs to the spine. The jacket has now been protected for the future by the addition of a removable plastic sleeve. It has retained a good strong colour, being un-faded and is very eye-catching indeed!
