A charming antique edition of Kenneth Grahame's Wind in the Willows. First published on 8th October, 1908, an Edwardian classic and delightful children's tale. This copy is an early edition being an eleventh edition published in 1921 by Methuen & Co., London. In very good condition. This is an unillustrated edition. The original book wasn't illustrated in the early editions until after this date when EH Shepard was commissioned to add drawings to the story in later books.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Has a small inscription on the front free endpaper dated November 24th, 1921 but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. The top closed edge is gilt, the other sides are untrimmed.

Dark blue/green cloth covered boards have a stamped classical picture of Pan playing his pipes on the front boards and beautiful ornate gilt decoration of Mr Toad on the spine. Again in top order. With a couple of very faint marks to the boards. Also has some slight rubbing to the corners and spine ends. The gilt on the spine is shiny bright.

A timeless classic, your antique copy of The Wind in the Willows will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged. I am always happy to include a gift card and message in the parcel.

H 20 cm x W 13 cm, 302 pages, 0.43 kg. I dispatch worldwide daily from the UK. (There are just a very few countries which I am unable to ship to).

* If you would prefer for your book not to be decoratively wrapped and sent simply in the full protective packaging please add a note to the order.
