In good condition and superbly illustrated, here is an antique copy of A Handbook to the Carnivora. Part 1 - Cats, Civets and Mungooses by Richard Lydekker. Published in 1896 by Edward Lloyd, London as part of their Lloyd's Natural History series. With thirty-two superb colour plates. 

Providing detailed descriptions of various cats etc., their habitats, behaviours, and physical characteristics. It is a valuable resource for anyone interested in the study of these fascinating animals.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. With an inked name at the top of the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. With some toning along the closed top edge, and spotting to the other two sides. Spotting also to the frontispiece tissue-guard. All of the colour plates are present as called for (see photos). 

In dark red cloth covered boards. Clean and smart, with a couple of light marks on the back. The red on the spine has faded in comparison to the front and back. With just a little rubbing to the corners and spine ends.
