1873 Trio of Antique Sir Walter Scott Novels / Pocket Editions - Waverley Series / Adam & Charles Black, London / Illustrated Frontispieces

I have uncovered nine lovely antique books in a series by Sir Walter Scott. Sadly not all the novels in the series were present and so as it was not a complete set I am selling the nine as three "trio" sets. Known as "Pocket Editions" they are a good size to hold in hand for reading. Published back in 1873 by Adam and Charles Black of London. They are over 150 years old and so have a little wear and rubbing, but remain lovely books. 

This set comprises: Kenilworth; The Abott; and The Pirate.

Dark green cloth over boards have black and gilt stamped decoration to the fronts and sides, and blind stamped pattern on the backs. With a little rubbing and the odd faint mark, but very presentable with bright gilt titles.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Some of the volumes have an armorial book plate to the front paste downs. They have illustrated frontispieces, else unillustrated. The odd partially cracked hinge, but the bindings remain strong and tight.
