In good condition, here is a charming antique hardback copy of The Poetical Works of Robert Burns. Published in 1869 by George Routledge & Sons, London. In a fine, full leather binding. With black and white engraved illustrations, and gilt edged pages.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Marbled endpapers with ornate gilt dentelles. Has an inked inscription on the verso of the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Portrait frontispiece and seven further engraved illustrations. All edges are shiny gilt.

Dark red leather binding with bevelled edges. Ornate gilt decoration to the front, back and spine. The latter having five raised bands and ornate gilt in each compartment. With some rubbing to the leather around the extremities. A little rubbing away of the leather at the head of the spine. The gilt remains shiny bright.

A lovely, attractive edition.
