In excellent condition, here is a first BCA edition copy of JRR Tolkien's The Silmarillion published in 1977. In the original dust jacket, and with a superb fold-out map at the end (see photos).

The Silmarillion is an account of the Elder Days, or the First Age of Tolkien's world. It is the ancient drama to which the characters in The Lord of the Rings look back, and in whose events some of them, such as Elrond and Galadriel took part. The tales of Silmarillion are set in an age when Morgoth, the first Dark Lord, dwelt in Middle-Earth, and the High Elves made war upon him for the recovery of the Silmarils.

Published and edited by Tolkien's son Christopher four years after the author's death, this comprehensive volume contains a Foreword, Genealogies, Index, Appendix and Maps, and this edition features the impressive large fold out map at the rear. Originally published in 1977 by George Allen & Unwin, this copy is a first Book Club Associates edition from the same year, produced with their permission.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. With the odd faint mark to the closed outside edges. Appears un-read. The fold-out map is also super, with no condition points to note.

Comes with the original dust jacket which has not been price-clipped. Also in top notch condition - with just some mild fading of the red letters on the spine being the only real condition point to note.
