This attractive vintage edition of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens was first printed in The Novel Library Series in 1947, this copy is one of those first editions. Published by Hamish Hamilton, London. In lovely decorative papered boards. This copy is seventy-seven years old and is in excellent condition, in fact it appears un-read as there are several corners still joined at the tips. Slightly larger than pocket-sized, see dimensions below.
Inside, the pages are excellent being clean, bright and tightly bound. Has some mild spotting to the endpapers, and a little creasing at the bottom fore-edge to some pages near the end. This is an unillustrated edition. With no writing or markings of previous ownership.
The papered boards are also top notch. They have kept a good colour having not faded. The gilt titles are shiny bright.
