1940s Insect Ways and Summer Days by Jennett Humphreys / Blackie and Son Ltd, London / Richly Illustrated Vintage Book / Dust Wrapper

A lovely vintage hardback copy of Insect Ways on Summer Days by Jennett Humphreys. Undated but would have been published around the 1940s by Blackie and Son, London. With a colour frontispiece and a number of other black and white illustrations which are a mixture of black and white plates and line drawings.

PLEASE NOTE: this is a vintage book and one of the chapter headers uses a word which we now find culturally unacceptable. (I have not printed it here).

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Has some tanning and spotting to the closed outside edges. With an inked inscription on the front free endpaper but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. 

In the original bright and colourful price-clipped dust wrapper. This has picked up some wear. With some rubbing and nicks to the corners and spine ends, and a small area of loss to the head of the spine where it meets the front board. There is a tear to the jacket on the back which has been repaired on the reverse side. Has a few faint ink marks at the top of the front jacket by the titles. I have now added a removable archival protective plastic sleeve to the jacket (not shown in the photos) and it looks bright, smart and presentable.
