1930s The Origin of Species by Charles Darwin / Odhams Press Ltd / Brown Faux Leather Boards With Gilt Lettering / In Excellent Condition

In absolutely excellent condition here is a 1930s vintage copy of The Origin of Species By Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle For Life by Charles Darwin. Published by Odhams Press of London. A scarce book, particularly in such superb vintage condition.

Dark brown faux leather boards have a central blind stamped pattern and a border around the edges. With bands and gilt decoration to the spine and further blind stamped motifs in each compartment. In top order, with no condition points to note at all. Has shiny, bright gilt titles and looks excellent on the vintage book shelf.

The contents are equally good. Opens with a portrait frontispiece of Darwin (see photos). The pages are clean and tightly bound with no inscriptions nor other markings of previous ownership. The tops of the closed page edges are tinted brown as published.
