1922 The Professor by Charlotte Bronte / JM Dent & Sons, London / Six Delightful Colour Plates by Edmund Dulac / Unread, Very Good Condition

In very good condition here is a lovely antique, leather bound, illustrated copy of The Professor by Charlotte Bronte. Published in 1922 by JM Dent & Sons, London. With six superb colour plates by Edmund Dulac. In a fine leather binding. Many of these pages are still un-cut along the edges (see final photo). This indicates the book will have never been read. I have left the pages un-cut so the new owner can experience the joy of opening them. They can be opened with a sharp knife, edge of a credit card or letter opener etc.

Dent & Sons produced six novels in their "Novels of Charlotte, Emily and Anne Bronte" series of which this was number one. Hence the "1" on the spine. 

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. Has some spotting to the closed outside edges and lightly scattered inside. Opens onto pale marbled endpapers. All six colour plates are present and in super condition. The top edge is shiny gilt. 

In a fine blue leather binding with gilt trim and blue cloth covered boards. All in top order - clean and smart. The spine has five raised bands with ornate gilt decoration in the compartments and red Moroccan leather title and author plates. The blue and red on the outer spine having faded a little in comparison to the sides. The top rear corner has had a very slight bump.
