1919 Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll / Full Leather / Beautifully Illustrated by John Tenniel / In Very Good Condition

In very good condition here is a beautiful edition of Lewis Carroll's Alice's Adventures in Wonderland in the Illustrated Pocket Classics Series. Published by Macmillan and Co of St. Martin's Street, London in 1919. With forty-two superb line drawings taken from the very first edition of Alice by John Tenniel. In full deep red leather. Lovely condition for a book of 105 years of age.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Has some tanning to the endpapers. Opens onto an inked inscription from 1924 on the front free endpaper (see photos), but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. The top closed edge is shiny gilt, with just some very light markings to the outer fore-edge.

In gorgeous dark red soft leather with ornate gilt decoration to the front and spine. Again in top order, with very little sign of age or wear apart from the odd very faint scuff and some rounding to the corners. The gilt on the front and spine remaining sparkly bright.
