1912 Romance & Legend of Chivalry by AR Hope-Moncrieff - Richly Illustrated

Here is an antique copy of Romance & Legend of Chivalry by AR Hope-Moncrieff. Undated, but published by The Gresham Publishing Company Ltd in 1912. A richly illustrated, very attractive book. The decorative boards are lovely and there are many black and white, and colour illustrations (see photos). This copy has SOME WEAR (detailed below), but remains a beautiful book.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. The main CONDITION POINT to note is some staining to the outside edges and endpaper edges (see photos). This is to the outside only, and not to the pages inside. Gilt edged on the top. Beautifully illustrated with eight colour, and twenty-seven monochrome plates taken from drawings and famous paintings. One of these is a double-page of the Round Table.

In extremely attractive olive-green illustrated cloth over boards. Ornate decoration to the front and spine. All un-faded, clean and bright. Has a bump to the top front edge. A couple of light marks - but minor. Some very slight rubbing to the decoration on the front - again minor. Otherwise the decoration has remained bright, gilt sparkly, and this is an extremely eye-catching book to display.
