Here is a lovely copy of the famous peacock edition of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice. Published in the peacock edition by George Allen of London in 1906. Beautifully illustrated and decorated throughout by Hugh Thomson. Condition in detail below.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. With just the occasional spot or blemish. Has a partial crack to the front hinge paper to reveal webbing beneath (see photos). In no way effecting the binding which is good and strong. Lacks the blank front free endpaper. This copy has no writing or markings of previous ownership. The top edge is gilt. Tanning and a little spotting to the other two edges.

The dark-green cloth covered boards have the famous, gorgeous ornate gilt peacock design to the front and spine. Also in very good order. Has a few light marks to the back board cloth. Some rounding to the corners and spine ends. A little rubbing also to the cloth on the corners to reveal boards beneath at the tips. A little fraying to the cloth at the spine head and tail on the joints. The gilt on the front is in top order. Beautiful and shiny. The gilt on the spine has rubbed a little in places but overall also very good and looking extremely eye-catching on display.
