Here is a super antique copy of Mrs Beeton's Every Day Cookery and Housekeeping Book. A very attractive edition. Undated, but published by Ward, Lock & Co., Ltd of London in 1891. With eight colour plates (including one fold-out); multiple further plates in black and white, plus diagrams. By their very nature the Mrs Beeton books were an indispensable part of running a household and so they often don't survive in very good condition. This copy is clean, bright and square, having been well preserved. Condition in detail below.

Containing: New and Valuable Recipes, Including Instructions For Foreign and Vegetarian Cookery, New French and English Menus For Every Month of the Year, New Menus For Breakfast, Luncheon, Tea, Supper & Picnics, New tables of Housekeeping Accounts and Household Expenditure. With Much Valuable Information With Regards to Modes of Cooking, Science of Cookery and Household Arrangements.

Inside the pages are clean with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. A few pages have folded-over corners. Opens and closes with vintage advertisements. All of the illustrated plates are in super condition. A little spotting to the closed fore-edge.

Brown cloth over boards have ornate decoration to the front and spine, and gilt titles. Again in very good order. The illustration on the spine having faded a little in comparison to the bright front. The gilt titles remain bright on the front and spine, and this is an eye-catching copy.
