In very good condition, an antique hardback copy of Wonderful Adventures A Series of Narratives of Personal Experiences Among the Native Tribes of America. Undated, but would have been published in the 1890s by Cassell, Petter, Galpin & Co., London. Richly illustrated and attractive boards.
A 19th‑century travel and ethnographic narrative. Compiles first‑person accounts of encounters with indigenous peoples across North America. Covering British Columbia; Mexico; The Western United States; Argentina; The Argentine Republic. *Contains 19th‑century perspectives on indigenous peoples, typical of the period.*
Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Spotting to the endpapers. Occasional spotting scattered through the text. Inked inscription to the verso front free endpaper. All edges gilt.
Red cloth over boards have floral decoration to the front, back and spine, and gilt vignette. Darkening to the spine. Some loss of cloth on the top front corner (see photos). A few small splits to the cloth on the spine ends, and to the spine hinge in one place at the bottom.
