A gift quality edition of Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen. In excellent MINT condition and is unread.
Published to the usual high quality standards to be expected of The Folio Society in 2003 on Clan Book Wove paper, bound in WW Light Buckram with printed paper sides. With an Introduction by Richard Church, a Select Bibliography and beautiful, in text wood engraving illustrations by Joan Hassall.
Contents are excellent. With clean, bright and tightly bound pages of quality that have not been written in. With just one small foxing spot on the front free, cream-coloured endpaper.
Attractive decorative papered boards with distinctive leaf pattern (designed by Hassall) are also in excellent condition with no signs of any wear. The maroon cloth spine is very beautiful with no fading at all and bright gilt ornamentation.
