c1900 Little Women or Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy by Louisa May Alcott - Illustrated Antique Book

In good condition here is a very attractive edition of Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. Undated but would have been published around 1900 by Sampson Low, Marston & Co., London. Richly illustrated with fifteen black and white plates. More details below.

Opens with a prize book plate to the front free endpaper, but has no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Tanning to preliminaries. Has the occasional nicked edge, folded corner tip and light handling mark. All fifteen black and white plates are present as called for.

In lovely olive-green cloth over boards with decoration to the front and spine. Some rubbing to the cloth on the corners and spine ends. Light rubbing also to the surface of the front board and a few faint light marks - but minor. A little more rubbing to the blue decoration on the spine, so it has faded in places. The gilt titles remain bright. A fairly large and eye-catching edition.
