In pristine "Fine" condition, here is a vintage copy of E. Nesbit Fairy Stories. Being a first in this edition, published in 1977 by Ernest Benn Ltd, London. Scarce. With black line drawn illustrations in the text by Brian Robb.

Comes from the collection of a book reviewer. The book would have been read for review pre-publication, and then this, and the remaining collection look as if they have been stored in a time capsule ever since.

This specific edition is a curated collection of E. Nesbit's best-loved original fairy tales, compiled and published decades after her death to introduce a new generation to her distinct style. Unlike traditional, dark folklore collected by the Brothers Grimm, E. Nesbit’s fairy tales are witty, modern, and highly subversive. She pioneered the genre of contemporary children's fantasy by mixing standard magical tropes (like kings, princesses, and wishes) with ordinary Edwardian life and sharp humour.

No condition points to note about the contents at all. The jacket has just the slightest of edge wear and still has the original price label on the back.
