In very good condition, here is a vintage hardback copy of The Novels of Jane Austen by Robert Liddell. Published by Longmans of London in 1963. With the original dust wrapper, which reads:

"Jane Austen is not presented here as the inspired and perfect writer of legend, the picture of her and her work that is offered here is even more worthy of admiration, and much more worthy of belief. Her genius lay in taking pains, and the pains that she took and their triumphant reward have never been so clearly exposed before".

Covers all six completed novels, Sanditon plus some letters.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Has an inked name at the top of the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Mild spotting to the outside edges. Unillustrated.

The unclipped olive-green dust wrapper with blue and white titles has fared very well indeed. Just the slightest of edge wear to corners and spine head, and one small nick to the bottom of the spine. Otherwise clean, bright and very smart indeed.
