1950 The Book of the Flower Fairies, Poems and Pictures by Cicely Mary Barker / Blackie & Son / Scarce Dust Jacket / In Very Good Condition

Those of you that know me will know that this is quite simply one of my favourite books. In the scarce original dust wrapper and in very good condition here is a lovely vintage hardback copy of The Book of Flower Fairies, Poems and Pictures by Cicely Mary Barker. Undated but would have been published in 1950 by Blackie & Son Ltd of London. With seventy-two stunning colour plates.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. Has illustrated endpapers and the top closed edge is tinted green. 

In green cloth covered boards with gilt decoration and titles to the front and spine. Again in top order having been well protected by the dust wrapper.

The dust jacket itself is in the best condition for any copy of the Flower Fairies that I have so far had to date. It has been price-clipped on the inner flap, and has some spotting along the top on the inside and faintly on the outside. With a couple of small closed tears along the top edge, one next to the front spine joint, and one on the back, and with a little creasing to the spine ends - but all minor. Otherwise it really is super. Bright, clean and complete. With strong colours, being un-faded.
