1947 Compliments of the Season - History of the Christmas Card, Vintage Illustrated Book

In excellent condition, this is a super vintage hardback book about the history of the Christmas card. Compliments of the Season was first published in 1947 by Penguin Books of London as part of their King Penguin series (no.K38). The size of a Ladybird book. This copy is one of those first editions.

This is a slim volume, but as always with the King Penguins it is packed full of information and has sixteen full-page colour plates. The pages and plates are clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or marks.

In delightfully decorated boards, these are also in top order with just some slight rubbing to the edges/corners, and a couple of chips to the paper on the spine ends - but minor. One small dark spot on the front.
