1920 Grimm's Fairy Tales - Illustrated Antique Book

In excellent condition, here is a lovely antique edition of Grimm's Fairy Stories. Undated but research shows it would have been published by Ward, Lock and Co., Ltd of London in 1920. With 48 wonderful colour plates by Harry G Theaker. A particularly fine example of this edition - condition in detail below.

Contents: The Frog Prince; Hansel and Gretel; The Fisherman and His Wife; The Six Servants; The Goblin Cobblers; The Brave Little Tailor; King Throstle-Beard; Mother Holle; The Bottled Spirit; The Spindle The Shuttle and The Needle; The Magic Herbs; Rumpelstiltskin; The Blue Light; One-Eye Two-Eyes and Three-Eyes; The Shoes That Were Danced Into Holes; The Drummer; The Golden Goose; The Boy Who Learnt to Shudder; The Wise Griffon; The Goose-Girl at The Well; The Three Spinning-Women and The Twelve Brothers.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. Mild spotting to the closed outside edges and occasional spotting in the text. A few folded corner tips. Has an inked inscription on the verso of the front free endpaper, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Lovely illustrated endpapers.

Bound in beige cloth over boards with pastedown illustration on the front and black stamped decoration. Again, all in top order. One faint dark mark on the bottom spine joint. A bright, smart and square copy.
