In excellent condition. With twenty wonderful tipped-in colour plates by Edmund Dulac. Here is an absolutely beautiful antique copy of Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam. Undated, but published in 1909 by Hodder & Stoughton, London. A large format edition (trade edition).

The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam is a collection of short, reflective quatrains (four‑line verses) attributed to the 11th‑century Persian poet and astronomer Omar Khayyam, translated — and famously re‑imagined — by Edward FitzGerald in the 19th century.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. Has some tanning and spotting to the endpapers, and spotting mildly through the text. Slight spotting also to the closed outside edges. All of the colour plates are present as called for, and all in top order.

Cream cloth over boards have ornate gilt decoration to the front and spine. A few faint dark marks - but minor. The front board is absolutely super. Showing two peacocks at the top, their decorative feather tails draping down to the bottom over two elephants. One small brown mark near the left elephant on the bottom edge.

Your antique copy of Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam will be wrapped with care in tissue and ribbon* and sent well packaged. I am always happy to add a gift card with a message to the parcel.
