As Christmas books go, they do not get much better than this. A gorgeous edition of Charles Dickens' The Chimes - A Goblin Story That Rang An Old Year Out and a New Year In. Beautifully illustrated by CE Brock. Published in 1905 by JM Dent & Co., London. In excellent condition - more details below.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound. No inscriptions or markings of previous ownership. A small nick to the edge of the title page. All of the illustrations are present as called for and all in good order. Has a number of other line drawn illustrations and decoration in the text. The top edge is shiny gilt.

Bound in beautifully designed cream cloth over boards decorated with dark-grey cherubim and holly. With shiny gilt behind the titles. Again in absolutely top order. Just a few very faint dark marks on the back, otherwise clean, crisp, bright and square. The gilt is shiny bright and this is a striking Christmas book.
