1903 Littledom Castle and Other Tales by Mrs MH Spielmann / Author's Presentation Copy - With Dedication to her Brother / Many Illustrations

Here is an Author's Presentation Copy of Littledom Castle and Other Tales by Mrs MH Spielmann. Published in 1903 by George Routledge & Sons, London. With an inked inscription by the author to her brother on the verso of the front free endpaper. Richly illustrated throughout by a number of artists including Arthur Rackham, Jessie M King and Kate Greenaway. TO NOTE is some water staining to the early top edges and frontispiece/tissue (see photos).

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. With the above-mentioned water staining to the top edge of the first few pages, frontis and tissue guard - mostly just leaving the pages with a slight wrinkle. The frontispiece is in colour (with a little colour transferring to the tissue guard), all other illustrations are in black and white. There are some absolutely beautiful illustrations by a number of highly regarded artists. With the author's inscription but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Has a partially cracked front hinge. All edges are shiny gilt.

Violet cloth covered boards have beautiful, ornate gilt decoration to the front and spine. With slight colour fading to the top right corner and mild rubbing to the cloth on the corners and spine ends. The colour has tanned a little on the spine, but the gilt roses and titles remain bright and this is a very attractive book.
