1889 Villette by Currer Bell - Antique Charlotte Bronte Book

In very good condition, here is a lovely antique hardback copy of Villette by Currer Bell (Charlotte Bronte). Published in 1889 by Smith, Elder & Co., London. In very attractive dark green and black boards. Condition in detail below.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. A small pencil inscription to the top corner of the frontispiece verso, but no other writing or markings of previous ownership. Tanning to the title page, which also has a chip off the bottom corner. An early, unillustrated edition. The book has developed a lean, over time.

Bottle-green cloth over boards have ornate black and gilt decoration to the front, back and spine. Again in top order. Clean and smart, and with shiny bright gilt.
