1887 My Hundred Swiss Flowers - Antique - Richly Illustrated

In very good condition, here is a super antique copy of My Hundred Swiss Flowers - With a Short Account of Swiss Ferns by Mary A Pratten. Published in 1887 by WH Allen & Co., London. Profusely illustrated with sixty colour plates (fifty-six colour botanical paintings and four chromolithographs).

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with just the occasional brown blemish to the tissue guards. This copy has not been written in, and there are no other markings of previous ownership. Has a small closed tear to the fore-edge of one leaf (at p.41), this has been re-enforced with professional tape (see photos). All of the plates are present and in super condition. The top closed edge is gilt.

Dark green cloth over boards has gilt and black decoration to the front and spine. The bevelled edges have rubbed to the cloth on the corners. With a few light marks to the cloth on the boards - but minor. Has some rubbing and small splits to the cloth on the spine ends (see photos). With rubbing also along the spine joints where there is a small hole in the cloth on the front edge. A clean, tight and square copy.
