In good condition, here is an antique copy of The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or The Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle For Life by Charles Darwin. Published in 1880 by John Murray, London. This is a Sixth Edition, With Darwin's Last Major Corrections And Revisions, First Published In 1872, (this copy printed 1880), One Of The First Twenty-Second Thousand Copies Of The Origin Of Species Printed In England. It is incredibly hard to get hold of copies this age still in good condition. This copy has a few condition points to note, but all minor (detailed below).

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. With occasional scattered spotting and the odd dark handling mark. The top closed edge has some toning. There are a few mild creases to some of the bottom corners. Has the folding diagram at page 90 still in excellent condition and firmly attached (see photos). Else unillustrated. Has cracked hinges at the front and back, giving the rear board a mild wobble, but holding firm. This copy has not been written in and there are no other markings of previous ownership.
Original dark green cloth covered boards have blind stamped borders, and gilt titles to the spine. With some white marks on the rear board (see final photo) and one small white mark on the front. With rubbing to the cloth at the corners to reveal boards beneath at the tips. Rubbing also to the cloth at the spine ends where there are a couple of small splits in the cloth. Otherwise clean, square and un-faded. A very smart copy indeed.
