Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte / Collector's Edition Bound in Leather Gilt / 1980 Easton Press / Illustrated / Silk Endpapers and Ribbon

This is a beautiful version of Emily Bronte's classic novel Wuthering Heights. A collector's edition produced by Easton Press in 1980. Bound in genuine leather which is accented with ornate gilt decoration to the front, back and spine. Printed on archival paper which is gilt edged on all sides. With salmon pink moiré fabric endpapers and matching silk ribbon marker. This is also an illustrated edition with dramatic colour lithographs by Barnett Freedman (see photos). Inside the book is in excellent condition and definitely appears un-read. The only condition point to note with this copy is some browning to the gilt on the back (see final-close-up photo), and in a couple of places also on the front.

The pages and endpapers are spotless and from the tightness of the binding and the way the ribbon is still tucked in, the book will not have been read. The pages are gilt-edged on all sides. These are sparkly bright.

Dark blue leather covered thick boards are strikingly eye-catching. The spine has four raised bands and gilt decoration in each compartment.
