Love in a Cold Climate by Nancy Mitford / 1992 Folio Society, London / In Very Good Condition With The Original Slipcase Box / Illustrated

I absolutely adore this version of Nancy Mitford's classic 1949 novel Love in a Cold Climate about the English upper-classes in the interwar period. Published here in 1992 by The Folio Society of London to their usual high quality standards. Bound in wonderfully illustrated cloth and with the original slipcase box. Following the text of the first penguin edition. Illustrated throughout by Roland Pym who also designed the boards. In very good condition with some faint marks on the slipcase box and a name sticker inside the front cover being the only condition points to note.

The contents, printed on Claudius Antique Wove paper, are bright, clean and tightly bound with no writing or marks. Has the above-mentioned name and address sticker on the front paste down (I have partially obscured the address for data protection in the photos). The illustrations perfectly depict the era and tone of the novel. Opens onto pale blue endpapers.

The colourful illustrated cloth covered boards are also excellent having been well protected by the slipcase box.

The pale grey/blue box has some faint dark marks to one side (see final photo), and a spot on the inside, and has faded just a little around the edges. Otherwise bright, clean, sturdy and will continue to protect the book for many more years to come.
