Here is a charming hardback copy of Challenge to Lassie - Story of the 1949 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Technicolor Film based on Greyfriars Bobby by Eleanor Atkinson. Very nice copy of a film 'tie-in' edition. With numerous black and white stills from the film and eight colour plates. The book is in super condition, there is a little wear to the dust wrapper but it is also overall very good indeed for a book of this age.
Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or other markings of previous ownership. All of the colour plates are present as called for.
The boards have a repeat of the jacket front illustration and are also in top order having been well protected by the wrapper.
The dust jacket itself is bright and un-faded (see photo 2). There is a closed tear on the top front and a little rubbing and chipping to the corners and head/tail of the spine. With a few small chips along the length of the spine and just a few small dark marks on the back cover. All minor and the jacket has now been protected for the future by the addition of a removable plastic sleeve. Looking very presentable indeed.
