Here is a charming antique version of Charles Dickens' five Christmas books. In fact, with its delightful colourful decorative boards and illustrations also inside, this is my favourite of any edition of the Christmas Books that I have come across to date. Undated but would have been published in the 1890s or early 1900s by Chapman & Hall, London. In good condition for an antique book of around 120 years old, with just a few condition points to note, detailed below.

The five books are: A Christmas Carol; The Chimes; The Cricket and the Hearth; The Battle of Life and The Haunted Man.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound with some occasional scattered spotting and tanning. Lacks the front green marbled free endpaper and so opens directly onto the half-title page (see photos). Has a number of super illustrations and decorative title pages for all five books and all are protected by tissue guards. All outside edges are tinted dark green.

Beige cloth covered boards have dark green, black and pink decoration to the front and spine. Clean and smart. There is a little bumping around the outside edges and some mild fraying to the cloth at the corners, spine ends and joints. Has a few faint faded spots on the spine.
