Here is a wonderful antique nature book. Undated but was published in 1900. A Natural History For Young People by Rev Theodore Wood. Printed by Ernest Nister, London. With twelve superb colour plates and over three hundred more illustrations in black and white.

Inside the pages are clean and tightly bound. With just the very occasional dark handling mark or blemish. Has decorative endpapers with a pencilled name on the front paste down. All of the colour plates are present as called for and in top order. Has partially cracked hinges at the front and back, but the binding of the text block is very good and strong. All edges are shiny gilt.

Light brown cloth covered boards with bevelled edges have decoration to the front and spine. TO NOTE is that all of the illustration has rubbed away from the lower half of the spine (see photos 1 and 2). With some thin rubbing scratches to the front illustration but this remains very good. With light rubbing to the cloth on the corners and spine ends. An eye-catching antique book.
