1979 The Hundred and One Dalmatians and Sequel The Starlight Barking by Dodie Smith - Vintage Book Set

In very good/excellent condition, here are two lovely vintage hardback copies of The Hundred and One Dalmatians plus the sequel The Starlight Barking by Dodie Smith. Book Club editions published in London in 1979. With superb black and white illustrations throughout (see photos), and in the original dust wrappers. They have the same jacket design and illustrations as the original first editions. Condition in detail below.

A really good pair.

Starting with Dalmatians - the contents are in top order. Pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no inscriptions or markings of previous ownership. The dust wrapper has faded on the spine, with a stain mark underneath the titles and some chipping to the spine ends. Otherwise the jacket is excellent, having kept the bright salmon pink colouring.

Starlight Barking is in very good condition. With delightful illustrated endpapers. The only condition point to note is some tanning to some of the pages where the book was printed on differing paper stock. Jacket again in top order with just one small tear on the bottom edge on the back panel, and some mild rubbing to the corners and spine ends - but minor.

Both jackets have now been protected for the future by removable plastic sleeves. They look very smart indeed.
