In excellent condition, here is a super vintage hardback copy of A Portrait of Jane Austen by the highly esteemed Austen scholar David Cecil. Published by The Book Club Associates, London in 1978. Richly illustrated in colour and black and white, and in the original dust wrapper. This copy has been really well looked-after.

Contents: The Family; Early Years; Steventon Days; Bath; Southampton; Life at Chawton; Fulfilment; Growing Fame; The End.

Inside the contents are superb. Clean, and tightly bound. Has a small inked inscription on the bottom of the verso front free endpaper (see photos), but no other writing or markings of previous ownership.

The unclipped dust wrapper is also in top order. With some slight rounding to the top corners.
