1968 English Fairy Tales - Vintage Hardback Book

In excellent condition, here is a beautifully preserved 1968 Bodley Head first edition of English Fairy Tales. Compiled and annotated by renowned folklorist Joseph Jacobs. Presented here in excellent condition with its original dust wrapper.

This classic collection brings together some of the most enduring tales from England’s storytelling tradition including:

Jack and the Beanstalk; The Three Little Pigs; Whittington and His Cat; and The Pied Piper amongst many others.

In total there are 87 stories, each with a head-piece drawn by Margery Gill, whose illustrations for some of Lang's fairy tales have been much admired.

Inside the pages are clean, bright and tightly bound with no writing or markings of previous ownership. The top closed edge is tinted mustard yellow.

In the original matching yellow unclipped dust wrapper. Again in top order. Just some very faint marks on the back - but minor.
