A super vintage illustrated edition of Charlotte Bronte's classic novel Jane Eyre. Published to the usual high quality standards to be expected of The Folio Society of London in 1966. Beautiful hardback book in original slipcase box. Both book and box are in super condition.
This version is illustrated with twelve lithographs by Anthony Colbert which are beautifully evocative of both the dramatic story and of Yorkshire (see photos).
Deep green cloth covered boards are in excellent condition having been well preserved by the slipcase. With some light rubbing and scuffing to the black leather spine. The spine has kept a good deep colour, with shiny gilt.
The pages are bright, clean and tightly bound. The top closed edge is tinted black. The book has never been written in, and there are no other marks or inscriptions.
The original slipcase box has dark grey papered sides and black leather top and bottom. The box remains clean and sturdy and should continue to protect the book for many more years to come.
